CYTIP is an intracellular, guanine nucleotide exchange factor mainly involved in the regulation of lymphocyte adhesion. Its expression is regulated by cytokines. Its coiled-coil domain interacts with the cytohesin for controlling cytohesin activities. Cytohesin plays an important role in regulation of immune system. It also regulates the movement of T cells, dendritic cells (DCs).
