Description_x000D_ General description_x000D_ Human DNA methyltransferase 1 (Dnmt1) is a 1616 amino acids protein; the N-terminal two-thirds of the protein is considered to be the regulatory domain, while the C-terminal region contains the catalytic domain._x000D_ In humans, the gene encodes a DNA (cytosine-5)-methyltransferase with 1616 amino acids. The N-terminal contains the regulatory domain, while the C-terminal region contains the catalytic domain.
