ENO1 is involved in tumor progression and prognosis of human glioma. Overexpression of ENO1 is associated with progression of glioma while its knockdown leads to suppressed cell growth, migration and invasion progression by inactivating the PI3K/Akt pathway in glioma cells. The lower expression of ENO1 decreases the response to hypoxia and enhances the sensitivity of the cells to radiation therapy. It may act as a drug target for the treatment of breast cancer.
