Description_x000D_ General description_x000D_ Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) is a hormone detected in the blood and urine during pregnancy. The peak levels of HCG are detected around Week 12 of gestation and diminish during remaining period of pregnancy. HCG is composed of α and β subunits. There are five variants of HCG that have been identified; HCG, hyperglycosylated HCG, sulphated HCG, free β subunit and pituitary HCG. For immunohistochemistry, the recommended working dilution is 1:100-1:200.
