Monoclonal antirabbit IgG is derived from the RG-96 hybridoma produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from mice immunized with rabbit IgG._x000D_ Rabbit IgGs are often used as primary antibodies in several immunological assays. Thus, polyclonal anti-rabbit IgGs are usually used as secondary antibodies in such applications. However, polyclonal antibodies to rabbit IgGs can also cross-react with IgGs from other species, especially with human IgGs, and thereby lead to a lack of specificity in test results. The use of monoclonal anti-rabbit IgG that is specific for only rabbit IgG improves the accuracy of immunological assays and thus, can be useful for various research applications._x000D_ The product recognizes an epitope located on the γ (heavy)-chain of rabbit IgG. In immunoblotting, the antibody recognizes both native and denatured forms of rabbit IgG. In ELISA, the antibody is specific for rabbit IgG, and shows no cross-reactivity with rabbit IgA and IgM or human IgG, IgA, and IgM.
