Rat has five immunoglobulin classes- IgM, IgG, IgA, IgD and IgGE. IgA molecules in serum are dimeric. IgA was formerly known as IgX. It plays an important role in mucosal immunity._x000D_ Specificity_x000D_ This product was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using Rat IgA coupled to agarose beads followed by solid phase adsorption(s) to remove any unwanted reactivities. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against Anti-Fluorescein, Anti-Goat Serum, Rat IgA and Rat Serum.
