Description; General description; RFX family of DNA binding proteins are transcriptional activators that recognize X-boxes (DNA of the sequence 5′-GTNRCC(0-3N)RGγAAC-3′, where N is any nucleotide, R is a purine and γ is a pyrimidine). Regulatory factor X, 4 (influences HLA class II expression) (RFX4, NγD-SP10) is a testis-specific dimeric DNA-binding protein that appears to regulate transcription via selective interactions with DNA and other RFX members. RFX4 appears to have a regulatory role in the transcription of testes histone (H1t), which is only expressed in pachytene spermatocytes during spermatogenesis.; Specificity; Anti-RFX4 (AB2) polyclonal antibody reacts with canine, human, mouse, rat, and zebrafish regulatory factor X, 4 proteins.; Immunogen; Synthetic peptide directed towards the N terminal region of human RFX4; Application; Anti-RFX4 (AB2) polyclonal antibody is used to tag regulatory factor X, 4 for detection and quantitation by Western blotting and in plasma by immunohistochemical (IHC) techniques. It is used as a probe to determine the roles regulatory factor X, 4 in testis development and spermatogenesis.; Physical form; Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.; Disclaimer; Unless otherwise stated in our catalog or other company documentation accompanying the product(s), our products are intended for research use only and are not to be used for any other purpose, which includes but is not limited to, unauthorized commercial uses, in vitro diagnostic uses, ex vivo or in vivo therapeutic uses or any type of consumption or application to humans or animals.; Biochem/physiol Actions; RFX4 is a transcription factors that contain a highly-conserved winged helix DNA binding domain. RFX4 is structurally related to regulatory factors X1, X2, X3, and X5. It has been shown to interact with itself as well as with regulatory factors X2 and X3, but it does not interact with regulatory factor X1. RFX4 may be a transcriptional repressor rather than a transcriptional activator. This gene is a member of the regulatory factor X gene family, which encodes transcription factors that contain a highly-conserved winged helix DNA binding domain. The protein encoded by this gene is structurally related to regulatory factors X1, X2, X3, and X5. It has been shown to interact with itself as well as with regulatory factors X2 and X3, but it does not interact with regulatory factor X1. This protein may be a transcriptional repressor rather than a transcriptional activator. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. This gene is a member of the regulatory factor X gene family, which encodes transcription factors that contain a highly-conserved winged helix DNA binding domain.
