Description_x000D_ General description_x000D_ FliC (flagellin) is the subunit protein which polymerizes to form the filaments of bacterial flagella. The protein has four-domains (D0, D1, D2, D3)._x000D_ The encoded flagellin filament contains 55 kDa monomers._x000D_ Biochem/physiol Actions_x000D_ FliC (flagellin) can activate the innate immune system by TLR5 (toll like receptor 5) and is an important proinflammatory molecule.
