Description General description Isoxicam is a long acting anti-inflammatory agent belonging to the oxicam group, and helps in relieving the symptoms of degenerative joint disease and rheumatoid arthritis. Its mode of action involves the ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis by suppressing the formation of cyclooxygenase and subsequent prostaglandin. Application Isoxicam may be used as an internal standard for the quantification of meloxicam in pharmaceutical preparations and as an analytical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in biological samples using different analytical techniques.
