Description_x000D_ General description_x000D_ Meclofenamic acid consists of two aryl moieties that are twisted in perpendicular orientation, it includes N-2,6-dichloro-3-methylphenyl group and N-2-benzoic acid group. Because of the low aqueous solubility of the compound, it is commercially available as sodium salt._x000D_ Application_x000D_ Meclofenamic acid sodium salt has been used:_x000D_ • in the inhibition of heat-induced denaturation of albumin_x000D_ • as a pharmacological agent in the preparation of superfusion solution for electrophysiology studies_x000D_ • to block the gap junctions_x000D_ Packaging_x000D_ 1, 5 g in glass bottle_x000D_ Biochem/physiol Actions_x000D_ Meclofenamic acid (MFA) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic drug. It inhibits prostaglandin biosynthesis pathway and finds its application in the treatment of postoperative and traumatic inflammation and swelling.
