Description General description Nimetazepam, marketed as the benzodiazepine drug Erimin, is prescribed for the treatment of stress or short-term severe insomnia in patients who have difficulty falling asleep or maintaining sleep. Cases of abuse have been reported from Southeast Asian countries including Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong to states such as Alabama and North Carolina. Although not used therapeutically in the US, the drug is known for its use to soften the comedown after use of methamphetamine or other stimulants.
