Description
General description
MDMO-PPV is a dialkoxy substituted poly(p-phenylenevinylene (PPV) based conjugating polymer which has long side chains that form flexible films for organic electronics. It is a piezoresistant polymer with HOMO and LUMO orbital positions at 5.4 and 3.4 eV respectively. It forms an active layer that can be used in photoconductive and electroluminescent applications.
MDMO-PPV is a semi-conducting polymer with the positions of highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) at 5.4 eV and lowest occupied molecular orbital (LUMO) at 3.2 eV.
Application
MDMO-PPV can be blended with (6,6 phenyl C61- butyric acid methyl ester) (PCBM) that can be coated on indium tin oxide (ITO) to fabricate polymeric solar cells. It can also be used as a red light emitting polymer, which can be used in the fabrication of red-green-blue laser based polymeric membranes.
MDMO-PPV is a conductive polymer that can be used in the fabrication of bulk heterojunction solar cells(BHJ).
