Description General description Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards Risperidone is a new central 5-hydroxytryptamine2 and dopamine D2 antagonist.[1] It is used to treat agitation, aggression,and psychosis caused during demnetia.[2] It is a neuroleptic drug.[3] It is also an atypical antipsychotic drug which is used for treating schizophrenia.[4] Risperidone is a psychotropic agent, belonging to the chemical class of benzisoxazole derivatives and is commonly used for the treatment of schizophrenia.[6] Application Risperidone may be used as a pharmaceutical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations[5][6] using colorimetric technique[5] and reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography technique.[6] These Secondary Standards are qualified as Certified Reference Materials.
