Description_x000D_ General description_x000D_ SIGMAFAST™ Protease Inhibitor Cocktail Tablets, EDTA-Free is a tableted formulation containing water-soluble protease inhibitors with broad specificity for the inhibition of serine, cysteine, aspartic and metalloproteases. The tablets have been formulated to be compatible with sample processing by immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC) such as used for the purification of histidine-tagged proteins. The tablets contain no strong metal chelators, such as EDTA, which might interfere with IMAC processing. Finally, the tablets contain a unique, proprietary formulation including a pepstatin A salt to provide additional protection not normally obtained in a tablet format._x000D_ Specificity_x000D_ Inhibits serine, cysteine, aspartic, and metalloproteases._x000D_ Application_x000D_ The broad protection afforded allows SIGMAFAST™ Protease Inhibitor Cocktail Tablets to be used for the purification of histidine-tagged proteins, as a general-purpose protease inhibitor cocktail and as components of buffers for cell lysis. The tablets have also been optimized and tested for use with HIS-Select media._x000D_ Components_x000D_ AEBSF_x000D_ Bestatin_x000D_ E-64_x000D_ Pepstatin A_x000D_ Phosphoramidon_x000D_ Leupeptin_x000D_ Aprotinin_x000D_ Quantity_x000D_ One tablet makes 100 mL of cocktail. One tablet is recommended for the inhibition of the proteases present in a maximum of 20 g of cell mass in 100 mL of extract._x000D_ Physical form_x000D_ Tablet that is water soluble_x000D_ Storage and Stability_x000D_ The tablets are stable as supplied for at least 2 years at 2–8 °C.
