Description Application Tryptone-yeast extract-glucose medium was used in the media used in the growth experiments with Escherichia coli MG165, conducted in order to monitor the bacteria for long term which underwent programmed population control, in a microchemostat, in an approach to prevent biofilm formation. It may be used in response surface methodology in order to find optimimum conditions for the growth of Lactobacillus casei YIT 9018. Tryptone may also be used in STGG (skim milk, tryptone, glucose, glycerol) medium at -80°C, which is used to preserve Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, and Moraxella catarrhalis isolates for atleast 3 years.
